Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (ASIA) in Two Dogs

Abstract
Autoimmune hemolytic anemia was diagnosed in two seven and eight year old German. Shepherd dogs. Both dogs were evacuated from Paek Yong Do because of severe hemorrhagic anemia and emaciation. On admission to the Animal Clinic, 10th Aeromedical Group, careful physical examination revealed severe anemia with icteric sign in visible mucous, membranes and dehydration. Palpable lymphadenopathies were evident at the inguinal and axillary regions. Tentative diagnoses were made to blood parasite infestation or certain poisoning at the time of admission. A final diagnosis was made of autoimmune hemolytic, anemia with the aid of antiglobulin test. The purpose of this report is to present cases of autoimmune hemolytic anemia, which are not available any previous reports of this type of disease in Korea.
Case Report
Case I: A seven year old male German Shepherd dog was presented to the SUWON ROKAF Veterinary clinic because of complete anorexia, vomiting severe emaciation and hemolytic anemia.
